Find and Delete Large Files on Mac (The Fast Way)

When your Mac says “Storage Almost Full”, don’t panic-delete apps. Find the biggest files and folders first—those are where the real wins are.

1) Use macOS Storage settings

Apple menu → System Settings → General → Storage

Check:

• Documents → “Large Files” (if available)
• Applications → sort by size

2) Sort folders by size in Finder

1. Finder → View → as List
2. View Options → enable “Calculate all sizes”
3. Click the “Size” column to sort

3) Common space hogs

• Downloads (old DMGs, ZIPs, installers)
• Movies / Screen recordings
• Xcode and iOS Simulators
• Photos library
• Mail attachments
